Counterfeit Artifactory

Produced in collaboration with photographer Matt Borland and ceramicist Sarah Eby, this album explores mass-produced uniqueness, a paradoxical story we buy with items that bear an artisanal or preworn look, yet come out of mechanized factories and travel through advanced supply chains. It’s not that the counterfeit artifactory produces storyless objects; rather, it produces a different story than the one that’s for sale.

This second Spoke And Mirror full-length release brings this situation into focus with a grain and grit of sounds preworn, a fabric pretorn, that begs a question: how many times has this been through the machine?
